Beyond The Overpass Theatre Company Receives Cultural Investment

Beyond The Overpass Theatre Company has received $35,000 in operational support through the Provincial Government’s Cultural Economic Development Program.

“This investment will be used to offset costs associated with the production of the 2012 Summer Theatre Festival,” said the Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. “Each year, Beyond The Overpass Theatre Company continues to provide audiences with entertaining theatre featuring top-notch performers.”

The theatre company is a not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to providing new and established artists with the opportunity to develop their craft while producing contemporary theatre in a rural environment.

“Beyond The Overpass Theatre Company has become a great addition to Gander,” said the Honourable Kevin O’Brien, Minister of Municipal Affairs and MHA for Gander. “I am so thankful that the Provincial Government can help support the wonderful entertainment that the theatre festival provides to the people of this region and surrounding areas.”

Budget 2012: People and Prosperity provides $2.9 million through its Cultural Economic Development Program to support arts, cultural, and heritage initiatives throughout the province.
