New Summer Offers Launched for the Tourism Season

Resident and non-resident travellers are invited to explore Newfoundland and Labrador this summer by trying out one of the exciting summer offers featured on the Provincial Government’s website: www.newfoundlandlabrador.com.   The summer offers were highlighted today by the Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation at a luncheon in Corner Brook hosted by Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador.

“The tourism industry is offering dozens of summer getaways throughout the province for our travellers this year, everything from kitchen parties and culinary adventures to amazing theatre,” said Minister Dalley. “The new and creative packages were inspired by recent workshops sponsored by the Provincial Government in partnership with destination management organizations. The packages offer places to stay and things to do in every region of the province. They will be promoted through our website, social media, e-news, and travel media programs over the coming months.”

The Provincial Government, Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador, and the destination management organizations are working together as partners of the Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism Board to implement the shared vision of becoming a leading tourism destination offering authentic experiences showcasing the province’s people, culture, and natural environment.

Budget 2012: People and Prosperity – Responsible Investments for a Secure Future invests close to $18.5 million to implement tourism initiatives and programming, including $13 million for tourism marketing.
