Feather and Folk Nature Festival Begins Today

Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy the 2012 Feather and Folk Nature Festival on the southwest coast of the province beginning today (Friday, May 25) and running until June 3. The annual festival of nature and culture is part of the larger Springfest, a series of festivals held on the west coast to promote tourism experiences during spring.

“Whether you are an avid bird watcher or someone looking to experience what nature has to offer, the Feather and Folk Nature Festival has something for everyone,” said the Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. “The Provincial Government continues to develop and support season extension activities, including this festival, in an effort to expand our traditional tourism season.”

The festival has an exciting schedule planned with events and activities, including; birding talks, geological walks, music and stories, dinner theatres, and more.
