Public Advisory: Emergency Social Services Provided to Persons Potentially Affected by Tropical Storm Leslie

The Department of Advanced Education and Skills wishes to advise the public of the emergency social services that would be provided in the event of an emergency or evacuation due to Tropical Storm Leslie.

If required, the Emergency Social Services Plan would see the establishment of reception centres in affected areas to provide food, lodging, clothing and personal services.

The Department of Advanced Education and Skills also partners with the Red Cross and Salvation Army in providing emergency services.

The department’s Emergency Social Services website is located at www.aes.gov.nl.ca/disasters/default.html

For further information regarding assistance due to Tropical Storm Leslie, call Fire and Emergency Services – Newfoundland and Labrador (FES-NL) at 1-888-395-5611.
