Public Advisory: New Traffic Lanes Operational at
Portugal Cove - St. Phillips Ferry Terminal Tomorrow

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that as of 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, December 8) a new traffic configuration will be in effect at the Portugal Cove – St. Phillips ferry terminal.

The ferry service to Bell Island will now be accessible via two new lanes dedicated to vehicles boarding the ferry. This will draw considerably more traffic away from the main thoroughfare and ease traffic congestion in the area.

This new traffic configuration will change the way motorists board the ferry to Bell Island. Flag persons and electronic signage will be on site to assist travelers when the new system of lanes is opened.
