Public Advisory: Update on Provincial Ferry Fleet

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that the MV Beaumont Hamel has entered service on the Fogo Island - Change Islands run today (Friday, October 21) as the MV Capt. Earl W. Winsor prepares to depart for annual refit.

The MV Capt. Earl W. Winsor will operate on the run today and depart for refit tomorrow (Saturday, October 22). The MV Beaumont Hamel is available to operate today should there be an increased demand in traffic, and will take over the run on a summer schedule when the MV Capt. Earl W. Winsor departs for refit.

The MV Sound of Islay is scheduled to join the MV Beaumont Hamel on the Fogo Island - Change Islands run when it is relieved from duty on the south coast of Newfoundland. This is expected to happen late next week once the MV Gallipoli is released from refit, pending Transport Canada inspections.

Schedule information can be obtained by calling 709-627-3492 for the Fogo Island service or 709-621-3150 for the Change Islands service.

While the MV Sound of Islay is operating at Fogo Island - Changes Islands, Long Island and Little Bay Islands in Green Bay will remain on a four-point schedule serviced by the MV Hazel McIsaac.

Ferry schedule and rates can be found at: www.gov.nl.ca/tw/ferryservices/schedules/ or by calling 1-888-638-5454 within Canada and 709-535-6244 outside Canada.
