Road Improvements Announced for Trans Labrador Highway

Users of the Trans Labrador Highway in southern Labrador will notice improvements to the road surface this construction season.

“The Trans Labrador Highway is a vital link in this area of the province for the travelling public and for commercial traffic,” said the Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works. “This work will improve the road surface and provide a better driving experience for all motorists.”

This tender provides for the supply and placement of crushed stone on Route 510, Trans Labrador Highway, at various locations between the Chateau Pond Depot and Lodge Bay.

Budget 2011 Standing Strong: For Prosperity. For Our Future. For Newfoundland and Labrador provides funding of $216.4 million for road and bridge improvements, supplemented by an additional $35.2 million in Federal Government funding, for a total road and bridge investment in 2011-12 of $251.6 million.
