More Road Improvements for Trinity North
Work continues in Trinity North to repair damaged caused by Hurricane Igor.
“Two tenders have been called which will provide for the final repair of two structures, one in Hickman’s Harbour and one in Aspey Brook,” said the Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works. “These two water flow structures were damaged in Hurricane Igor and we will now see their final restoration with this tender call.”
Work to be completed in this tender includes, but is not limited to, the excavation and disposal of the existing pipe arch structure on Route 231 at Hickman’s Harbour and the installation of a new pipe arch structure, along with stabilization materials and guide rail. The tender also provides for the removal and disposal of the existing timber bridge located on Route 231-10 at Aspey Brook and the installation of a new culvert structure with stabilization materials and guide rail.
“These projects will complete final repairs to two damaged structures on our highways,” said the Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Environment and Conservation and MHA for Trinity North. “Once complete, these two projects will help reinforce the highway system in our region to the benefit of all those who travel our roads.”
