Media Advisory: Minister to Attend Arts Work Conference

The Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will participate in the 2011 Arts Work Education Awards gala this evening (Monday, November 7) at the Delta Hotel and Conference Centre, St. John’s, Salon A. The event begins at 7:30 p.m.

The awards gala is part of an annual Arts Work conference which, for the past five years, has been funded through the Provincial Government’s Cultural Connections strategy – a joint initiative of the Departments of Education and Tourism, Culture and Recreation. The conference connects teachers with various artists, musicians and performers, and offers practical and effective professional development experiences that encourage and support new approaches to delivering and incorporating the arts into classrooms throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
