Association of Heritage Industries Benefits from Cultural Investment
The Provincial Government has provided $45,000 in operational support to the Association of Heritage Industries through the Cultural Economic Development Program.
“The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is committed to supporting the dedicated people who safeguard and promote the heritage of our province,” said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. “By investing in our heritage community, we are ensuring our history will be protected and celebrated for generations to come."
Established in 2000, Association of Heritage Industries is an umbrella organization of the province’s heritage groups. It brings the heritage community together to speak with a strong voice on cultural policy issues. Collectively, the association represents more than 2,000 organizations, institutions, and individuals involved in heritage work in Newfoundland and Labrador. Budget 2011 Standing Strong: For Prosperity. For Our Future. For Newfoundland and Labrador provides $2.9 million through its Cultural Economic Development Program to support arts, cultural, and heritage initiatives throughout the province. Projects are selected based on the strength of the business plan, vision, and potential development within the sector.
