Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra Receives Marketing Support

The Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra (NSO) has received $40,000 through the Provincial Government’s Cultural Economic Development Program to support their marketing initiatives.

“For over three decades the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra has been a major contributor to the cultural landscape in this province,” said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. “The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased to provide funding which will offset costs associated with the marketing and promotional campaign for the 2011-12 season.”

Neil Edwards, Executive Director of the NSO, said the organization is pleased with the Provincial Government’s continued support.

“We are extremely grateful to the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation for its continued generosity and confidence in the orchestra and for recognizing its importance in the cultural life of this province,” said Mr. Edwards. “The support we receive through the Cultural Economic Development Program allows us to reach out to existing and potential audiences in ways which would otherwise be impossible.”
