Media Advisory: Premier to Attend Events in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Labrador West
The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador will be in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Labrador West tomorrow (Friday, August 19) for a number of events.
At 9:00 a.m. Premier Dunderdale will be joined by the Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Child, Youth and Family Services, and the Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Labrador Affairs and MHA for Lake Melville, in Happy Valley-Goose Bay for an announcement at the Grand River Family Resource Centre, North Star Building on Hamilton River Road.
At noon, the Premier will tour the new College of the North Atlantic campus, recently completed in Labrador West. The Premier will be joined by Jim Baker, MHA for Labrador West, and Ann Marie Vaughan, President of College of the North Atlantic.
At 1:00 p.m. Premier Dunderdale will be joined by Minister Johnson and MHA Baker for a child care announcement at J.R. Smallwood Middle School in Wabush.
At 2:00 p.m. the Premier will attend the official opening of the CT scanner at the Scanner Building next to the Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital. Premier Dunderdale will be joined by the Honourable Jerome Kennedy, Minister of Health and Community Services; MHA Baker; Eric Power, Vice-President of Finance and Corporate Services, Labrador-Grenfell Health; and Heather Bruce-Veitch, Director, External Relations, IOC.
At 3:00 p.m. Premier Dunderdale will attend the official opening of the dialysis unit at the Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital. The Premier will be joined by Minister Kennedy, MHA Baker and Mr. Power. The event will take place in the hospital cafeteria.
