Media Advisory: Premier to Attend 35th Annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers
The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will attend the 35th Annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers (NEG/ECP) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from July 10 to 12. This year’s conference is co-hosted by Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick
Discussion topics include maximizing the potential of regional energy resources, Canada-US trade relations, climate change and other environmental challenges, as well as a number of other issues of regional importance. The conference will also provide the opportunity for Premier Dunderdale to update US Governors and other Premiers on the development of Muskrat Falls.
NEG/ECP represents 11 jurisdictions, comprising the six New England Governors and the five Eastern Canadian Premiers.
Established in 1973, the conference advances the interests of the region through cooperation and encourages collaboration with the private sector. The NEG/ECP Conference has addressed a number of topics over the years including the environment, economic development, tourism, energy, fisheries, trade and agriculture.
