Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

DRAFT EIS GUIDELINES/SCOPING DOCUMENT FOR PUBLIC REVEIW:

Labrador – Island Transmission Link                                   (Reg 1407)
Proponent: Nalcor Energy

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) and the Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Department of Environment and Conservation invite Aboriginal groups and the public to comment on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Guidelines and Scoping Document for the proposed Labrador-Island Transmission Link project. The draft EIS Guidelines and Scoping Document identify the information that the proponent, Nalcor Energy, will be required to address in order to prepare the EIS.

To assist Aboriginal groups and the public in providing comments, the draft EIS Guidelines and Scoping Document are available on the Agency’s website at www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca, in the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry under reference number 10-03-51746 and on the NL Department of Environment and Conservation website at www.env.gov.nl.ca. To obtain a copy of the document, please communicate with either contact listed below.

Interested persons or groups are invited to send their comments by March 21, in the official language of their choice to:
