Designated Special Ballot Offices Open

Elections Newfoundland and Labrador would like to notify electors that 12 Designated Special Ballot Offices have been established in communities around the province. These offices are scheduled to open today (Wednesday, August 24) and have been established in addition to the district returning offices to accommodate electors who will be unable to vote in person at the advance poll (October 4, 2011) or regular polls (October 11, 2011).

The deadline to vote at these offices is October 1, 2011.

Interested and qualified electors may vote at these locations by applying and casting their ballots at the time they visit. Special Ballot kits cannot be taken away and returned to the designated offices; they must be marked and submitted at the time of application.

A listing of designated office addresses and contact information will appear in local newspapers and is currently available online at www.elections.gov.nl.ca. Electors may also call Elections Newfoundland and Labrador at 1-877-729-7987 for more information.
