Media Advisory: Minister to Attend National Meeting of Education Ministers

The Honourable Joan Burke, Minister of Education, will join provincial and territorial education ministers from across Canada for the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) meetings in Toronto this week, February 22 and 23.

The ministers will discuss progress on common priorities including early childhood learning and development, Aboriginal education and international education.

CMEC is an intergovernmental body composed of ministers responsible for elementary, secondary and advanced education from the provinces and territories. Through CMEC, ministers share information and undertake projects in areas of mutual interest.
