Public Advisory:
Schedules Announced for 2010 Labrador Marine Service
The 2010 Labrador Marine
Service schedules are now available and can be found on
the Department of Transportation and Works website.
Start and end dates for the 2010 Labrador Marine Service
will be as follows pending ice and weather conditions:
-
The MV Sir Robert
Bond will begin service June 18 and end November 25;
-
The MV Astron's
schedule will start June 14 and end November 26;
-
The MV Northern
Ranger service will begin June 14 and end November
19; and,
-
The MV Marine Eagle
service will start June 9 and end November 30.
Ice conditions will be
evaluated in mid-May to determine whether earlier start
dates are possible.
As part of the continuing pilot project to provide
year-round service across the Strait of Belle Isle, the
MV Apollo will resume service between Blanc Sablon and
St. Barbe on April 3 pending ice conditions. If ice
conditions do not allow the vessel to dock at St. Barbe,
the service will continue between Blanc Sablon and
Corner Brook until conditions improve. The scheduled
service end date is January 16, 2011 pending a review of
the current pilot project to determine if it will
continue into the 2011 season.
