The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball
Association (NLBA) has released the first set of rankings for
the Hall of Fame Cup (Elite Eight) Championship to be held on
February 18-20, at the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre
in St. John�s.
The selection committee consisting of
Chair-Roger Head, Bill Murphy, Bill Brophy, Randy Ball, Joe
Lake, Peter Abbott and Kevin Fitzpatrick, have gathered scores
of invitational tournaments, exhibition games and league play
for the past two months. Over 300 game results have been
forwarded to the provincial office to assist with the rankings
formulated below. Roger Head, Chair of the Hall of Fame Cup
Program says "This year�s teams are much closer in skill level
making the decisions much tougher on the committee. There are
also teams knocking on the door to enter the top eight in both
genders and this may show on the next set of rankings in mid
January."
Results from tournaments held prior to
December 20, have been included for the first set of rankings.
Below are the teams based on the results currently submitted to
the NLBA office from across the province.

The Selection Committee is urging all
tournament hosts to e-mail/fax the results to the provincial
office immediately upon conclusion of the event. Rankings will
be updated and made public during the final week of January.
