Victoria Ball Field to be Upgraded
The Town of Victorias Recreation
Commission is upgrading its recreational infrastructure with the
help of $15,000 provided through the Provincial Governments
2010 Capital Grant Program.
"This funding will be used to assist
with the replacement of fencing, the upgrading of the surface at
the community ball field, and other improvements," said the
Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and
Recreation. "A well-maintained softball field will provide area
residents of all ages with the opportunity to further enjoy
organized and recreational activities in an outdoor
environment."
The Victoria Recreation Commission is
among more than 40 recreation commissions, municipalities and
community-based organizations throughout the province which have
received funding to upgrade their recreation and sport
infrastructure through these latest Capital Grant Program
investments.
"Victoria is a beautiful community
with strong recreational roots," said the Honourable Jerome
Kennedy, Minister of Health and Community Services and MHA for
Carbonear-Harbour Grace. "This funding, combined with a loyal
and dedicated group of volunteers, will help the community grow
its recreational programming"
