Boxey Safe-Play
Committee Benefits from Recreational Infrastructure Funding
The Boxey Safe-Play Committee will erect
new fencing around its play area with the help of $15,000 provided
through the Provincial Governments 2010 Capital Grant Program.
This facility is an integral component
in physical, recreational and social activities offered by the
community, said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism,
Culture and Recreation. We are pleased to support efforts to make it a
safer environment in which area youth can enjoy outdoor activities that
contribute to their general well-being.
The Boxey Safe-Play Committee is among
more than 40 community-based organizations, municipalities, and
recreation commissions throughout the province which have received
funding to upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through the
Capital Grant Program.
I am very pleased to support a safe play
area for the children in Fortune Bay North, said Fortune Bay - Cape La
Hune MHA Tracey Perry. Healthy, active lifestyles begin at a very young
age, and facilities such as these are instrumental for encouraging our
youth to enjoy the outdoors.
