Athletes Benefit From
Provincial Government Investment in Equipment
A wide range of new sports equipment will
be purchased by 13 individual Provincial Sports Organizations, thanks in
part to a $96,500 investment provided through the Provincial
Government's Capital Grant Program.
"These grants are designed to help our
Provincial Sports Organizations purchase new, state-of-the-art sports
equipment, in turn allowing our athletes the opportunity to train and
perform in environments which encourage high-calibre performances," said
the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and
Recreation. "Our government is committed to supporting the further
development of sport talent in Newfoundland and Labrador, and to seeing
more of our athletes compete — and win — at the provincial, national and
international levels."
A detailed list of approved projects can
be found in the backgrounder below.
