The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will be attending meetings of Federal-Provincial-Territorial ministers responsible for tourism being held in Vancouver, British Columbia, October 14 -15, at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The impact of air access to, from, and within Canadian jurisdictions, and the opportunities available in the emerging Chinese tourism market are among the issues to be discussed.　

Minister French will also take the opportunity to update his colleagues on recent developments within the Newfoundland and Labrador tourism industry — including issues around the Marine Atlantic gulf ferry service — and to highlight provincial concerns about the federal barriers to cruise industry growth and the lack of stable federal funding for tourism research.
