Media Advisory: Minister to Attend 2010 Arts and Letters Awards
The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism,
Culture and Recreation, will attend the 58th Annual Arts and
Letters Awards tomorrow (Saturday, April 17), taking place at The Rooms
in St. John's. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
The Provincial Arts and Letters Awards program was
established in 1952 and, over the years, has recognized some of
Newfoundland and Labrador's most talented and well-known artists.
This year, more than $46,000 in prizes will be
awarded in literary arts (including French), musical composition and
visual arts.
