"In less than a week, the province's
tourism marketing campaigns have been in the spotlight
both nationally and internationally," said the
Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture
and Recreation. "Last week it was a gold CASSIE Award
for the Fresh Air component of the Find Yourself Here
campaign, and this week, even more honours. There is no
question this province is seen as a leader in the world
of travel marketing, and that our campaigns continue to
fulfill our main objective – promoting Newfoundland and
Labrador as a destination of choice."
The Adrian Awards are presented by
HSMAI, an international organization of sales and
marketing professionals representing all divisions of
hospitality, travel, and tourism. The awards honour
creative talent and best practices in hospitality,
travel and tourism marketing, and recognize innovative
and successful approaches to advertising, public
relations, and web marketing.
The province's Find Yourself Here
campaign was developed in collaboration with Target
Marketing and Communications Inc., which has partnered
with the Provincial Government on its tourism marketing
efforts since 2006. Since the inception of the campaign,
Newfoundland and Labrador's tourism marketing efforts
have received more than 70 industry awards.
