Public Advisory: Additional Forest Access Roads Closed

The Department of Natural Resources advises the following forest access roads and bridges in the eastern region have been closed due to damage sustained during Hurricane Igor:

  • White Hills Forest Access Road, located off the Trans Canada Highway (TCH);
  • Thorburn Lake Forest Access Road, located off the TCH;
  • George's Pond Forest Access Road, located off the Cabot Highway;
  • Ocean Pond Forest Access Road, located off the Cabot Highway;
  • Muddy Hole Brook Forest Access Road, located in George's Brook;
  • Chance Harbour Forest Access Road; and,
  • Lethbridge Forest Access Road from Meeting Pond to Ocean Pond.

The department is continuing to assess the damage related to the storm and the public is advised to use extreme caution on any forest access road.

The department will keep the public informed should it become necessary to close any additional forest access roads to ensure public safety.
