individuals being recognized is reflective of the outstanding
experience, skill and commitment to excellence of the public service of

The Public Service Award of Excellence is
the highest honour an employee can receive from the Government of
Newfoundland and Labrador. Open to all employees, this award highlights
excellence and outstanding job performance at both individual and team
levels. It celebrates the exceptional work, commitment and creativity of
employees who are making a notable contribution to the people of
Newfoundland and Labrador.
"Thousands of women and men across
Newfoundland and Labrador quietly go about the business of service
delivery, often without people ever seeing their faces or knowing their
names," said Mr. Norris. "Today the Public Service Awards of Excellence
shine a light on those individuals to acknowledge their dedication and
service."
Since June 2001, when the award was
launched, there have been more than 450 nominations. Sixty-one
