Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION and PUBLIC MEETING:

Twillingate Shrimp Shell Waste Processing (Reg.1534)
Proponent: Eastern Star Group Canada Ltd

On November 29, the minister announced that proponent is to provide additional information on the undertaking, including: details regarding odour, emissions and spill mitigation measures, facility operations and effluent quality. The proponent has submitted this information and has received approval to present this information in a public meeting to be held in the Town of Twillingate on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 7:00pm at the JM Olds Colligate. Public comments will be accepted until December 20, 2010.

The additional information can be found on the department�s webpage at www.gov.nl.ca/env/env_assessment/projects/Y2010/1534/index.html. The minister�s decision on the project has been extended to December 26, 2010.
