Transportation and Works April 22, 2009 Public Advisory: Beaumont Hamel Out of Service The travelling public is advised that the Beaumont Hamel ferry is out of service due to a mechanical issue. As a result the M/V Flanders will operate between Bell Island and Portugal Cove on a load and go basis until the traffic backlog is cleared, and then as traffic volumes warrant, until the Beaumont Hamel returns to service. The Department of Transportation and Works is working to identify the exact cause of the issue and hopes to have the Beaumont Hamel back in service as soon as possible. - 30 - Media contact: 2009 04 22 12:40 p.m. |
