Congratulates Luke Adam on Being Named
to Team Canada�s 2010 World Junior Hockey Squad
The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism,
Culture and Recreation, today congratulated Luke Adam of
Kilbride, who is one of 22 players named to Team
Canada�s roster for the 2010 World Junior Hockey
Championship, to be held December 26 to January 5 in
Regina, Saskatchewan.
"We know that Newfoundland and Labrador athletes have
the skills and talent to compete in the national and
international arena," said Minister French. "This latest
achievement, by one of our own, is an inspiration to
young athletes across the province, and we look forward
to cheering for Luke and Team Canada as they take on the
world later this month."
Mr. Adam, 19, plays forward for the Cape Breton
Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey
League. He is the team�s top scorer, netting 25 goals
and 27 assists for a total of 52 points in 33 games so
far this season. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in
the second round of the 2008 National Hockey League
entry draft.
