Actor Allan Hawco to Read Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang at The Rooms

In celebration of TD Canadian Children�s Book Week (November 14-21) Allan Hawco, one of Canada�s most exciting young actors and star of the upcoming CBC�s TV series, Republic of Doyle, will present a reading of Mordecai Richler�s classic children�s story Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang at The Rooms on Saturday, November 21, 2:00 p.m.

Abridged by David S. Craig, Mr. Hawco�s dramatic reading of the beloved Canadian children�s classic about a little boy who has to say everything twice in order to be heard by his older brothers and sisters is expected to be a highly popular event with families of children six and up.

Originally from the Goulds and a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, Mr. Hawco has starred in some of the most interesting and acclaimed recent television dramas including ZOS: Zone of Separation; the political thrillers H2O and its sequel Trojan Horse; Closing the Ring, and the World War II drama, Above and Beyond. Currently, Mr. Hawco is shooting the hour-long television drama Republic of Doyle. As co-creator, he writes, stars and is Executive Producer of the project. The highly anticipated television show is set to air on January 6, 2010.

Mordecai Richler (January 27, 1931 � July 3, 2001) was a well-known Canadian author, Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and essayist. Called �the great shining star of his Canadian literary generation� and a pivotal figure in the country's history, his best known works are The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, Barney's Version, and the Jacob Two-Two children's stories.

Allan Hawco reads Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, Saturday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m. It is presented in association with TD Canadian Children�s Book Week. Tickets are five dollars and available at The Rooms Admissions Desk on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be available up to an hour before show time.
