Provincial Arts and Culture Centres Announce 2009 Fall Schedule

Newfoundland and Labradors six provincial Arts and Culture Centres have released a diverse and exciting schedule of performances for the fall season, and residents and visitors are being encouraged to take in as many events as they can.

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, said the fall line-up will attract and entertain a variety of audiences.

"Our arts and cultural communities are bursting with talent talent we continue to see develop and flourish," said Minister Jackman. "It is encouraging to see the range of performances the Arts and Culture Centres continue to feature each season, ensuring that audiences can enjoy the annual classics, but also experience incredible new shows from local, national and international performers."

A tentative schedule for upcoming events is attached in the backgrounder below.

For more information, including showtimes and ticket prices, please visit the Arts and Culture Centres website at: www.artsandculturecentre.com

Since the release of the provinces cultural strategy, Creative Newfoundland and Labrador: The Blueprint for Development and Investment in Culture (2006), the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has invested more than $25 million in new funding into the cultural and heritage sectors.
