Visitor Experiences Highlighted on Tourism Website Travel Blog

The Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism website has launched a travel blog which allows website users to read and respond to real stories about visitors' personal travel experiences in this province.

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, said the blog is an excellent communication tool, and will provide website visitors and potential travellers with authentic, first-hand accounts of people's experiences while travelling throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

"The stories, and the responses to them, will help potential visitors learn more about Newfoundland and Labrador - and hopefully encourage them to plan their own trip to the province," said Minister Jackman. "It's a way to communicate directly with people interested in travelling here, and will also provide government and tourism industry operators with further insight into our clients, the kinds of experiences they are seeking, and whether we are delivering on their travel expectations."

The travel blog is the latest visitor information feature on the provincial tourism website. Users are encouraged to read through the postings and, should they wish to comment, log in and respond.

The Newfoundland and Labrador tourism website also provides access to a Facebook page, where visitors can post pictures and comments, and a virtual scrapbook for those who wish to create and share their own online photo album about their travel experiences in this province. Subscribers to the website who wish to be informed of the latest blog postings and comments, can have notification sent to them automatically through the website's RSS feed.

The blog is maintained in collaboration with AppleCore Interactive, a Newfoundland and Labrador-based marketing and communications agency.
