Innovation, Trade and Rural Development September 18, 2009 Media Advisory: Minister to Speak at Festival of the Sea The Honourable Shawn Skinner, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development, will speak at the opening of Festival of the Sea 2009 on Sunday, September 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the Star Hall, located on Jubilee Road in Placentia. The Ireland-Newfoundland and Labrador Festival of the Sea (September 20-25) links the southeast counties of Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny in Ireland and Newfoundland and Labrador�s Southern Avalon region. The festival alternates each year between Ireland and the province, promoting the cultural, historic and community ties between the two islands.
