Media Advisory: Minister to Announce Support for The British Group

The Honourable Shawn Skinner, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development (INTRD), will announce support for The British Group, formerly British Confectionery, tomorrow (Friday, June 26) at 10:30 a.m. The announcement will take place at 7 Panther Place at The British Group�s office in Mount Pearl. A tour of the facility will follow.

The British Group was first established as a wholesale confectionary distributor in 1958. Since the early 1960s, the company has been supplying the charitable fundraising market in Newfoundland and Labrador with bingo and other fundraising supplies. Over the years, it has emerged as a market leader in break-open tickets for lotteries in jurisdictions across Canada and the United States.
