Finance January 21, 2009 Minister Responds to Auditor General�s Report
Sound governance and prudent fiscal management have been cornerstones of the Williams government said the Honourable Jerome Kennedy, Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board, today in his response to the release of the Auditor General�s report on the review of departments and agencies for the year ended March 31, 2008. "We stand on a solid record of responsible management," said Minister Kennedy. "Our government will now thoroughly review the findings of the Auditor General and consider his recommendations. This report provides another lens through which our government can view its operations and procedures and we will take this opportunity to identify any steps that can be taken to further strengthen how we govern." Minister Kennedy also noted the Provincial Government�s ongoing commitment to enhanced accountability and transparency for all government departments and public agencies. - 30 -
