Media Advisory: Premier to Take Part in Unveiling of Hebron Memorial

The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will travel to Hebron Monday, August 10, to participate in the unveiling of a memorial erected for residents who were relocated from the northern Labrador Inuit community in 1959. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m.

Premier Williams will be accompanied by the Honourable Patty Pottle, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs; the Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Labrador Affairs; and the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. Also taking part in the ceremony are Nunatsiavut Government President Jim Lyall, Minister of Culture, Recreation and Tourism Ben Ponniuk, and former Hebron residents.
