Transportation and Works December 3, 2008 Public Advisory: Closure of Big Brook Bridge Announced The Department of Transportation and Works today announced the immediate closure of the Big Brook Bridge, located near Eddie�s Cove on the Northern Peninsula. The department's engineers have determined the bridge must be closed in the interest of public safety. The bridge had been used by operators of all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles. The Department of Transportation and Works will be dismantling the bridge when circumstances permit and has no plans to replace it since the community of Big Brook no longer has any permanent residents. - 30 - Media contact: 2008 12 03
