Transportation and Works March 10, 2008 $1.5 Million in Road Improvements for Bonavista South
Bonavista South is the latest region to reap the benefits of the Williams Government�s record-setting, $73 million Provincial Roads Improvement Program, as the Honourable Dianne Whalen, Minister of Transportation and Works, today announced $1.52 million for road upgrades in the area. "Never in the province�s history has a government made such a significant investment in our road network ," said Minister Whalen. "Improvements to the province�s transportation infrastructure make it easier and safer for motorists to experience the beauty of our province."
Road work planned for Bonavista South is: "With winter coming to a close and the busy tourism
season just around the corner, I am pleased with the announced road work
for Route 230," said Roger Fitzgerald, MHA for Bonavista South. "The
Discovery Trail is a busy highway, serving both area residents and
visitors. These projects will provide a more comfortable and safe
travelling experience for all." The Provincial Roads Improvement Program will create
an estimated 1,400 person years of employment and is part of the
Provincial Government�s infrastructure strategy, valued at more than $2
