2009 Hall of Fame Cup Basketball Rankings

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association (NLBA) has released the first set of rankings for the Hall of Fame Cup (Elite Eight) Championship to be held on February 13-15, 2009. The event is scheduled for the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre in St. John�s.

The selection committee consisting of Chair-Roger Head, Bill Murphy, Bill Brophy, Randy Ball, Joe Lake, Peter Abbott and Kevin Fitzpatrick, have gathered scores of invitational tournaments, exhibition games and league play for the past two months. Over 300 game results have been forwarded to the provincial office to assist with the rankings formulated below. Roger Head, Chair of the Elite Eight Program, is ecstatic with the support pouring in from across the Island.

Results from tournaments held prior to December 19, have been included for the rankings below. Below are the rankings based on the results currently submitted to the NLBA office.

The selection committee is urging all tournament hosts to fax the results to the provincial office immediately upon conclusion of the event. Rankings will be updated and made public during the final week of January.
