Arts and Culture Centres throughout Newfoundland and
Labrador have announced their respective schedules of events and
activities for the 2009 winter season.
The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Tourism,
Culture and Recreation, said the lineups include shows which appeal to
audiences of all ages.
"According to the winter schedule, the stages of all
six provincial Arts and Culture Centres will host a wealth of local and
national talent in coming months," said Minister Jackman. "From
established to up-and-coming artists, there will be no shortage of
interesting and entertaining theatre, dance, music and variety."
Minister Jackman encouraged residents to visit a
regional Arts and Culture Centre near them and take in a performance
being showcased during the winter season.
"The provincial Arts and Culture Centres continue to
play a vital role in the promotion of Newfoundland and Labradors
diverse culture," said Minister Jackman. "Seeing a performance not only
makes for a good night out, but is also an excellent display of how our
artists help us celebrate our living culture."
A tentative schedule for upcoming events can be viewed
below. For the latest information, performance times and ticket prices,

In 2006, the Provincial Government released
Creative Newfoundland and Labrador The Blueprint for Development and
Investment in Culture, which included a commitment of $17.6 million
over three years to preserve and promote the arts and culture sectors.
