Tourism, Culture and Recreation June 13, 2008 The following is being distributed at the request of School Sports Newfoundland and Labrador: Canada Basketball Scholarships Announced School Sports Newfoundland and Labrador, in conjunction with Canada Basketball are pleased to announce the winners of the 2008 Canada Basketball Scholarships. Five scholarships in the value of $500 each are available to graduating high school basketball players. Scholarship winners were selected based on their excellence in basketball and academics. Athletes are not required to continue playing basketball at the post secondary level. Canada Basketball has sponsored this scholarship program across Canada since 2006, and has rewarded many outstanding athletes. These 2008 recipients are, once again, at the top of their class.
