Senior Appointments Announced

The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced three senior appointments.

Gerard Antle, P.Eng., has been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister of the Works Branch, Department of Transportation and Works. Mr. Antle most recently served as Assistant Deputy Minister, Municipal Engineering and Planning, with the Department of Municipal Affairs.

Dr. Cathi Bradbury has been appointed Medical Consultant, Department of Health and Community Services. Dr. Bradbury most recently was Director of Physician Services with the department.

Paul Noble has been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister, Public Safety and Enforcement, with the Department of Justice. He served in that position in an acting capacity since May 8 this year.

"These individuals bring strong professional and work credentials to their new posts," said Premier Williams. "I wish each of them well and look forward to their continued valuable contributions to the provincial public service."

Biographical Information

Gerard Antle, P.Eng.

Gerard Antle. P.Eng., served most recently as Assistant Deputy Minister (Municipal Engineering and Planning) with the Department of Municipal Affairs, and prior to that as Registrar of Motor Vehicles with the Department of Government Services. He began his career with the Provincial Government in 1987 as bridge design engineer with the Department of Transportation. He later worked as senior regional engineer with the Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs at Happy Valley-Goose Bay, and as regional director with the Department of Transportation and Works at Corner Brook.

Mr. Antle is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland. He holds a bachelor of engineering from Memorial University, where he received the University Medal for Academic Excellence in Civil Engineering, and a certificate in public administration.

Dr. Cathi Bradbury

Dr. Cathi Bradbury served since 2000 as Director of Physician Services with the Department of Health and Community Services. For close to five years she was Medical Director, Medical Care Plan where she earlier held the position of Assistant Medical Director and then as Acting Medical Director. Dr. Bradbury has also worked in family practice and as emergency physician in various hospitals in Newfoundland and Labrador and in Manitoba.

Dr. Bradbury has a masters of business administration, doctorate of medicine, and bachelor of medical science from Memorial University. She has a certificate in health service management from the Canadian College of Health Services Executive.

Paul Noble

Paul Noble most recently served as acting Assistant Deputy Minister (Public Safety and Enforcement) with the Department of Justice. Mr. Noble began his career with the provincial public service in 1992 as solicitor with the department, a position he held for six years. He then served as legal counsel for the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary for 10 years, and in January this year became Senior Policy Advisory for the Department of Justice on police services and standards. Prior to working with the Provincial Government, Mr. Noble was a lawyer with McInnes Cooper and Robertson; a supernumerary Customs Inspector with the Department of National Revenue, and a teacher at Prince of Wales Collegiate in St. John�s

Mr. Noble received bachelor of arts and bachelor of education degrees from Memorial University in 1983. He received a bachelor of law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 1989.
