Executive Council June 30, 2008 Media Advisory: Premier Williams to Participate in Memorial/ Canada Day Events The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will take part in events to mark Memorial/Canada Day on Tuesday, July 1. Premier Williams will lay a wreath on behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador at the 91st Memorial Day Ceremony, commemorating the 92nd anniversary of the Battle of the Somme at Beaumont Hamel. The wreath laying ceremony will take place at the National War Memorial, Duckworth Street, at 10:55 a.m. Premier Williams will attend the Canada Day/Dan Cleary Event in Harbour Grace. The family fun activities will take place from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at St. Francis Field, and the Premier will bring greetings at approximately 2:30 p.m. -30-
