Media Advisory: Premier and Ministers to Attend
Team Newfoundland and Labrador Send-Off

The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will participate in the Provincial Team Send-Off for the Special Olympics on Sunday, February 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event takes place at Club One in St. John�s. The 2008 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games are taking place February 26 to March 1 in Quebec City.

The Honourable Kevin O�Brien, Minister of Government Services; the Honourable Dianne Whalen, Minister of Transportation and Works; and the Honourable Dave Denine, Minister of Municipal Affairs, will also be in attendance. The Department of Government Services is a partner agency on the Law Enforcement Torch Run provincial committee. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is an initiative of various law enforcement agencies which raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics.
