Public Advisory: Closure Dates for Labrador Shipping Season Released

The Department of Transportation and Works has announced the closure dates for the 2007 Labrador shipping season.

Freight destined for Happy Valley-Goose Bay will be accepted in Lewisporte, Cartwright and all coastal communities until 4:30 p.m., November 9. This also applies to freight originating at Happy Valley-Goose Bay, headed for coastal Labrador ports and Lewisporte. Freight destined for coastal Labrador ports via Cartwright and Lewisporte will be accepted until 4:30 p.m., November 14.

Freight will not be accepted for delivery to terminal ports after these dates.

As of Tuesday, October 16, the M.V. Sir Robert Bond began operating in freight mode, with the frequency of trips and departure times determined by the amount of freight to be shipped. This ensures all freight received on, or before, the above dates, is delivered.
