Bonavista North Roads Improved to the Tune of Nearly $3 Million

The roads network in the Bonavista North region will be significantly enhanced with a $2.95 million investment, announced today by the Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Transportation and Works.

"For the second year in a row, this government is investing $60 million in the Provincial Roads Improvement Program as we strive to bring our roads to an acceptable level," said Minister Hickey. "Roads in Bonavista North will be extensively improved as a result of today�s announcement."

The road improvement projects planned for Bonavista North are:

  • Replace expansion joints and repair rails and curbs, Anchor Brook Bridge;
  • Upgrade and pave a section of Route 330, Gander Bay Highway (includes placing the surface course asphalt on sections of Route 330 upgraded in 2006);
  • Upgrade and pave section of Route 320, Trinity towards Indian Bay Brook Bridge;
  • Replace existing culverts on Route 320-33 to Green�s Pond;
  • Upgrade and resurface a section through Aspen Cove and Ladle Cove;
  • Upgrade and resurface section through Frederickton;
  • Upgrade and pave section of Route 332 between Main Point and Davidsville;
  • Upgrade and pave section of Gillingham�s Road in Noggin Cove.
  • Harry Harding, MHA for the Bonavista North district, said, "I am extremely pleased with the funds allocated for the upgrading of roads in the district of Bonavista North. This major investment will allow for considerable road improvements to be carried out, resulting in more pleasurable driving conditions for residents and visitors, alike."
