Media Advisory: Minister to Announce Flagbearer
at Canada Winter Games Athletes Rally 

The Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Tourism Culture and Recreation, will announce the flag bearer for the upcoming 2007 Canada Winter Games at an athletes� rally scheduled for today at the Newfoundland School for the Deaf, Topsail Road, St. John�s at 6 p.m. 

The rally will feature a parade of some 200 athletes from the east coast region of the province.  Also scheduled to attend are Olympic curling gold medalists and former Canada Games athletes Mike Adam and Mark Nichols. 

The 2007 Canada Winter Games will take place February 23 to March 10 in Whitehorse, Yukon.
