Premier in Labrador The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be in Labrador on Wednesday, June 27, for the following events: Premier Williams will make an announcement regarding hard-surfacing of the Trans Labrador Highway at the Wabush Hotel at 10:00 a.m. The Premier will be joined by the Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Transportation and Works; Jim Baker, MHA for Labrador West; Mayor Jim Farrell of Wabush; and Mayor Graham Letto of Labrador City. At 2:00 p.m. Premier Williams will officially turn the sod on the Mealy Mountain Auditorium in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The Premier will be joined by Minister Hickey, Mayor Leo Abbass of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, and Caroline Crawford, chair of the Eastern Labrador Arts Alliance. The sod turning will take place at the site of the future performance space adjacent to Mealy Mountain Collegiate. At 3:00 p.m. Premier Williams will turn the sod on the new long-term care home in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The Premier will be joined by the Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Health and Community Services; Minister Hickey; Boyd Rowe, CEO for Labrador-Grenfell Health, and Mayor Abbass.
