Media Advisory: Budget 2007 Lock-in

A lock-in for Budget 2007 will be held for representatives of the news media on Thursday, April 26. The lock-in will be held in the Conference Centre, Ground Floor, West Block, Confederation Building.

During the lock-in, media representatives will be provided with advance copies of the budget documents and will have the opportunity to question the Honourable Tom Marshall, Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board, following a news conference.

The agenda for the lock-in is as follows:

9:00 a.m.    Lock-in area opens
9:30 a.m.    Distribution of Budget 2007 documents
11:00 a.m.  News conference with Finance Minister Tom Marshall
12:30 p.m.  Lunch
1:55 p.m.    Media representatives move to the House of Assembly

Media representatives may enter the lock-in at any time after 9:00 a.m. Upon entering, however, a person must remain in the lock-in until 1:55 p.m. Media representatives are reminded that wireless communication devices, such as cell phones and Blackberries, are not allowed in the lock-in area. Those in the lock-in will also be required to disable built-in wireless devices on their portable computers.

Accreditation forms, available from the Communications Branch of Executive Council, must be completed and signed prior to entering the lock-in.
