Proponent: Lands Management Division                                                       (Reg. 1359)

The Badger Lake area is located between the communities of Badger and South Brook.  The proposal is for 45 cottage lots, 22 on the northeastern shore of Pauls Lake (middle region of Badger Lake) and 23 lots on the northeastern shore of Joes Lake (southern region of Badger Lake).  The design consists of single tier recreational cottage developments.  Construction will include gravel road development and upgrading, with cottage building to occur after the lots are sold.

The undertaking was registered on November 9, 2007; public comments are due by December 28, 2007; and the minister's decision is due on January 5, 2007.

Crown District 1 Five Year Forest Operating Plan (2007-11) Amendment
Proponent: Department of Natural Resources                                    (Reg. 1360)

The proposed commercial cutting area amendment (Gander Pond, Area J-4C) is located on Crown land approximately eight kilometres east of the community of Whitbourne, immediately northeast of the Munn agricultural lease property.  Approximately 24 hectares of mature balsam fir-dominated forest, representing a harvest volume up to 3,000 cubic metres, is proposed.  The purpose of the amendment is to provide an alternate harvest area for a local operator to replace the Halls Gullies operating area (B-1C). This area is currently deferred until a mitigation plan, regarding the arboreal lichen Erioderma pedicellatum, is accepted by the proponent and this department.

The undertaking was registered on November 22, 2007; public comments are due by December 28, 2007; and the minister's decision is due on January 6, 2007.

Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, prior to the deadline date shown.
